Yaren Buse Özgenç is an English Language instructor at OSTİM Technical University, where she has been teaching since October 2023. Since joining the Foreign Language Department, she has been committed to fostering a dynamic and supportive learning environment for her students. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in English Language Teaching at Middle East Technical University (METU), where she also completed her bachelor’s degree in the same field, graduating as the top student in her department. Additionally, she graduated from a dual diploma program, earning one diploma from METU and another from SUNY New Paltz in the United States, where she focused on Liberal Studies and Teaching English as a Foreign Language. During her time there, she gained firsthand experience and insights into English preparatory schools catering to non-native speakers. Her experience in this program strengthened her intercultural competencies and provided her with invaluable insights into global educational practices. Her academic and research interests span across several key areas of English language education, including linguistics, sociolinguistics, second language acquisition, teacher education and training, as well as language testing and assessment. She strives to inspire her students and foster an engaging, supportive learning environment, equipping them with the skills necessary for academic and linguistic success. She continues to seek opportunities for growth, both personally and in her teaching practice.
